My name is Florence of Sinus Iridum, nickname Foffi and I am the first Chartreux that set foot in this house, which by the way is my house, and of which I am the reigning queen. I was born on July 21, 2002 (my sign is Cancer) at the house of Mrs. Lucia Diaferia from the cat farm of Sinus of Iridum in Mignanego, (Genova). I am the only female from a litter of 3 cats and I was chosen by Marco, my favorite. After my arrival I had the place to myself and was very happy for about one year until several new “faces” appeared, which upset my daily routine, but not my “queen” status and the affection of my loved ones. Every once in a while I have to put everyone in their place, especially when there are kittens around, in particular the ones who don’t listen and that don’t behave like a good “Chartreux”. Why? Because the Chartreux is a calm and tranquil cat, even tempered, reassuring. It adapts itself to life in an apartment, to being around children and elderly people. If it leaves the house, it’s a great hunter. It’s a cat with strong instincts, discreet in its behavior. It understands when its two legged mate want to play or cuddle and it adapts very easily to the family life. Its personality makes if proud and independent, with nerves of steel and very confident. It doesn’t like sudden noises, tricks or shouting which make him nervous. All our kittens can leave the family after 90 days with all our vaccinations, wormed, tested for Fiv Felv Fip, the Anfi Sono pedigree and are placed with a loving family only after we get to know them very well, to insure that they’ll be well treated for the rest of their lives the way they were used to since birth.
